Tasting Note
Colour:
There are no ham-fisted greetings here; but rather a look, a friendly touch on the arm, a kind comment.
Nose:
Medium-to-deep red and purple with a bright quality and clean rim edge.
Entry:
Primary aromatics abound, and they are all a clarion call to fresh, bright, lively grenache: berried fruits, red boiled lollies, homemade jelly, liquorice and wildflowers. Higher notes of fennel and of tar also loose off a few shots, in remembrance of the sunburnt mirth and the warm South.
Middle Palate:
This red wine is an effortless three-step dance. An exalting, Cossack-kicking grenache quickly leads before being turned more slowly by earth, wind, and pepper’s fire - courtesy of the shiraz.
Finish:
Oak spice makes a fleeting allegro, which adds to the finish and to the length of the wine. Components come together and there is a natural unity at the end.
